Here are some explanations
for some of the details on my about
Seska page.
activist
Right now
my efforts are focused on Sex Worker Rights. I am a member of the Coalition
for the Rights of Sex Workers based oin Montreal. We are working
for the decriminalization of our work and our lives. We raise awareness
about issues that sex workers face and we are working for better working
and living conditions.
amateur
Originally
this term referred to men and women who had no prior background in
the adult industry. They were regular folks (often college students
and housewives) who got their kicks being sexual exhibitionists in
homemade porn movies and pictures, which they shared with the world.
At first, these sites were free, but then came the bandwidth bills
and people had to get a little more savvy if they wanted to continue
having their websites. Now it has become big business. Most porn corporations
hire unknown models and create websites featuring their pictures. Smaller
businesses buy pictures of a given model and create a website around
this content. Their biographical information more often than not is
made up by the webmaster. Yet, there are still many personal websites
that are run by the people they feature. Folks like me and my friends
keep trying to find a balance between being an exhibitionist and paying
the bills. I like to think we are the Mom and Pop websites of online
porn. Other terms people use to describe this kind of porn are "porn
with personality", "homemade", and "do-it-yourself
smut".
aquarian
I was born
in early February. The year was 1971 and there was a snowstorm just
about every day that winter (or so I have been told). I find I relate
well to what is written about Aquarians - especially by Rob Brezsny
- "The charming riot Aquarian folk everywhere are stirring up
these days: revolutionary, yet considerate, mischievous yet kind, demanding
yet cute". I have been told that this quote describes me well.
bent
While I
do use the term bisexual as a personal descriptor, my preferred term
is bent. I like it as slang and it is more accurate to me than bisexual,
which I find limiting and constricting. I do not feel sexual orientation
is a simple binary system - at least not for me and many people I know.
When I was younger I thought you could be either heterosexual or homosexual,
that you had to pick one or the other. I was attracted to both boys
and girls, but being quite the conformist in my younger days I picked
boys. I always fantasized about girls though. Once I got together with
James, and we explored the idea of having an open relationship, I left
my conformist ways behind me and hooked up with like minded gals. It
just felt right. I have had romantic feelings for other women, but
they have never been returned. Still, I keep an open heart to the possibilities.
Until then I will continue to have quite the good time sexually with
my gal friends.
model
This category
I don't take too seriously. Most of my modeling is just me being myself.
Most of it is explicitly sexual. James takes most of my pictures, doing
his best to capture me in the heat of the moment. However, I do like
to pose for a couple of my friends (Heather and
Leroy)
on more incisive projects. It makes for an enriching experience. I
like taking on a character and bringing her to life, but only with
people I feel safe with. You can find some of these explorations here
at S4L and in its archive.
performer
My good
friend Elsa and I formed a postmodern burlesque troupe. We called ourselves The
Coral Lees. We created something that was not your run-of-the-mill
burlesque nor your superficial, plastic striptease. We both have XXX
experience so we wanted to take that, and our wild and silly personalities,
and bring that to the stage. Yep, this stuff is inspired by the classics
and recycled by geeks! Elsa is no longer living full time in Montreal
so the troupe is not active, but I still perform on my own and with
other burlesque artists at various events, benefits and cabarets.
I also perform
on occasion with The
Scandelles who hail from Toronto. My performances are inspired
by the web based sex work that I do. I also join in on the groovy
closing group numbers. So much fun!
polyamorous
I am open
to sharing romantic love with more than one person. Initially, James
(my husband) and I considered ourselves as having an open relationship.
We were occasional swingers. We were not sexually monogamous, but when
it came to romantic feelings they were limited to each other. Things
changed when a relationship I was a part of evolved from a crush and
sexual fanciment to something deeper and more meaningful. This change
required everyone involved to be less selfish and become better communicators.
I think we handled these demands pretty well given that none of us
would have ever expected to be in this situation. It certainly brought
James and I closer together and allowed me to experience love in a
whole new way.
runner
I took up running in 1999 (I think...my memory is
fuzzy about exactly when) and it plays a big part of my exercise
and stress reduction routine. I like to run outside weather permitting,
but I don't mind running on a treadmill if I have some good tunes
to help me pass the time. I am not a fast runner. I have recently
joined a running group and have been running four days a week.
I completed a 10K race in November 2005 and a 21K (half marathon)
in April 2006.
self
employed
For the most part James and I work for ourselves.
We love the freedom of deciding what our priorities will be,
who will do what, and making our own hours. We also love being
together all day long. We never get on each other's nerves and
staying in our pajamas most of the day seems to keep us smiling.
vegan
A vegan is someone who does not consume any foods
made from animals (including meat, fowl, fish, dairy, eggs and
honey) or use products made from animals (i.e. wool or leather).
I became a vegetarian in 1993 and a vegan 1996. I did so because
of my views regarding compassion for animals. I don't need to eat
animals or wear their skins (or other parts) to be a happy, healthy
person, but I understand that not everyone feels the same way as
I do. I respect the choices of others and hope that they in turn
can respect my choices. To meet some other vegetarians who have
porn sites, click

writer
I mainly
write for my own sites. Here at S4L that means my near-daily journaland
occasionally fiction. Over at my personal website that means my members-only
journal (which is more X-rated). I also have a sex
news and advice blog that features my articles. I have contributed
some pieces to Scarlet
Letters and from October 2003 to May 2007 I was a regular
columnist for Homegrown
Video. |
